This morning I woke up early so I could review the Scriptures since it was my turn to teach Sunday school class. Soon, Rick woke up and made us breakfast and then he left to go to the Special Olympics event. He, along with brother Knights of Columbus, were helping out with the food and drinks and had to meet at the oceanfront and load up at 8:30 am. Meanwhile, I busied myself with feeding the girls and getting them ready for church. This morning everything went smoothly, so I was proud of myself as I backed out of my garage and glanced at my dashboard clock. I grew puzzled when I arrived at church and noticed that the parking lot was full. I paused as I watched people trickle out of the church and head towards their cars. Then it hit me; I was not late, I was early and had forgotten to set our clocks back. It was not 8:45 am, as I supposed, but 7:45 am. The people coming out of church had gone to the 7:00 am mass, not the 9:00 am mass! Then I thought of my husband, he was supposed to meet his brother Knights at 8:30 am. I let out a laugh and then called him up…He was wondering where everyone was and was about to give someone a call…
It was then that I turned to my girls, and said, “Hey, do you want to watch them make doughnuts at Krispy Kreme?” What do you think they said?
“Hot Doughnuts Now,” there are worse ways to kill a hour. Good Bye Daylight Saving Time!
Oh Mary,
hey, remember our after church trips to KK?
Thanks for the funny post.
Tricia
Love it!
That was way funny. I bet they enjoyed the doughnut making. did they get any to eat?
Absolutely, they had a doughnut each with fall-colored sprinkles. Mommy had a pumpkin spice, poor Daddy missed out!
So funny! Rich and I did the same thing last year. We were rushing to get to Mass and when we arrived, no one was there. We had a good laugh about it and then went to the Cinnabon shop. :0)
It happened to us to years ago.. At least the girls had something fun to do before church. LOL.
hahha!!! this was one of the few years we didn’t get caught missing mass due to the time change. YAY! for an extra hour of fun.
