Bright, Sunshiny Day

After nearly a week of rain and overcast skies, we awoke to a bright, sunshiny day…and my youngest joyfully singing in her crib.  Yes, she is still in a crib, yes she is 2 1/12 years old and yes, she weighs 35 lbs.  However, this beautiful, blonde child is one of the most accident prone people I have ever known…so she will continue to sleep in the crib until future notice.  Anyway, I digress…

Today is one of those precious days we get in May.  Not too hot, not too humid, a warm breeze, and not too many mosquitoes.  In about two or three weeks, we will be enveloped in a moisty, sticky mess that will be with us until Halloween.  The mosquitos will camp out in our playground, and my oldest will have a zillion bites.  My husband will complain about the heat, and I will long for the Monterey Bay.  However now in Tidewater Virginia, all is right with the world. The birds are singing, and making their nests. It is strawberry picking season, and my girls have feasted with this delicious fruit until their faces were smeared with red juice and their tender tummies stuck out.  It is also the month to celebrate Mothers, both here and gone.  Can you tell May is my favorite month?

May rocks! 🙂 it’s nice up here too, the mosquitos have found us but we just roll in deet 🙂

We already have the sticky heat and mosquitoes down here. But come July and August, it’ll be too hot for even the bugs…

We’re traveling north twice in June, so I’m hoping to enjoy some cooler temperatures then!
